FATTOUSH EASY RECIPE
Fattoush is a Levantine bread salad made from toasted or fried pieces of pita bread combined with mixed greens and other vegetables. It includes different vegetables and herbs according to season and taste. The vegetables are cut into relatively large pieces. Sumac is usually used to give fattoush its sour taste.
INGREDIENTS
1. Minced garlic Grams 10
2. Salt To taste
3. black pepper To taste
4. Mint leaves Grams 50
5. Lemon juice Ml 15
6. Olive oil Ml 30
7. Pita bread Number 1
8. Romain lettuce Number 6
9. Cucumber Grams 40
10. Tomatoes Grams 40
11. Green onions Grams 40
12. Red+ yellow bell pepper Grams 40
13. Sumac powder To taste
METHOD
1. In a small bowl prepare dressing by mixing salt, pepper, mint leaves, lemon juice, olive oil and sumac powder. Keep for half n hour.
2. Fry pita bread or toast at 180°C for 10-15 min.
3. Combine the vegetables and the dressing.
4. Add pita in the end so that it doesn’t get soggy.
5. Enjoy cold.
