TADKA DAL EASY AUTHENTIC RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1. Arahar dal Grams 150
2. Salt To taste
3. Haldi Tsp 1
4. Desi ghee Ml 15
5. Dried red chilli Number 2-4 (small)
6. Onions Grams 50
7. Cumin seeds Tsp ½
8. Hing Tsp ¼
9. Ginger Grams 5
10. Garlic Grams 10
11. Coriander powder Tsp ½
12. Deghi mirch Tsp ½
13. Tomatoes Grams 50
14. Green chilli Number 1
15. Coriander leaves To garnish
METHOD
1. Soak the dal for 45 min in water.
2. Boil the dal in water, salt and haldi. For 1 cup dal use 3-4 cups of water. (while boiling, froth will come on top, remove that)
3. In a pan, add desi ghee, add dried red chilli, when that begins to crackle add jeera, when that crackles, add hing.
4. Then add fine chopped onions, then fine chopped ginger and garlic and cook.
5. Add coriander powder, salt, haldi and very little deghi mirch. (make sure you don’t add too much salt, because there is salt in the water of boiling dal as well).
6. Add fine chopped tomatoes and cook till fat separates. Add fine chopped green chillis.
7. Add the boiled dal and add some of the water of boiled dal as well. Cook till one boil.
8. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
